Russian Rhapsody
The emerging Russian conductor leads masterworks by his countrymen, including a virtuoso showpiece for which Jon Kimura Parker has earned international acclaim. Shostakovich said he wrote his intricate Eighth Symphony during the Second World War “to express the emotional experience of the people.”

Guest pianist Louis Lortie, performs Mozart’s festive Piano Concerto No. 21, nicknamed the Elvira Madigan for its beloved romantic theme used in a movie of the same name.
In the 1960s, Gyorgy Ligeti found fame in 2001: A Space Odyssey, but this earlier work from 1951 reflects the “symphonic-folk” tradition with sounds that are both modernist and listener-friendly. |

informative. Through interactive computers, you can learn how the experts handle dangerous infernal situations, plus see over 200 years of firefighting history on display - including the oldest surviving fire
engine in Cincinnati. Also, be ready for a chili taste-off, featuring the unique varieties of chili from
select neighborhood chili parlors.

impressive views. The interactive discussion will focus on the genesis of a recently-completed view study, highlighting some of the more noteworthy views in and around our city. Just in time for those Fall leaves to change!
