SOUND DISCOVERIES: MUSIC FOR THE COMMUNITY addresses
educational issues outside the classroom. Music for the Community
builds on the CSO's proud tradition of community engagement
and supports appropriate not-for-profit organizations with
services and collaborations such as:
• Guest speakers for career days, special music
programs or camps
• Mentors for students or programs
• Soloists, coaches or conductors for school/community
performing organizations
The CSO's tradition of great music extends beyond Music Hall in Classical Roots: Spiritual Heights Concerts. This
initiative takes members of the CSO to a variety of venues
in the tri-state region. In addition, Classical Roots activities
have brought African-American and Latino string students from
area schools to Music Hall for career development workshops.
Classical Roots concerts and activities aim to serve the community
in non-traditional ways and create bridges between the CSO
and the neighborhoods of Greater Cincinnati.
Look for the CSO at a community venue near you! The CSO is thrilled to bring the power and beauty of music to the community.
The Multicultural
Awareness Council's mission is to foster and increase
awareness of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra's programs,
classical music, and music education in the greater Cincinnati
area through:
• Cultural and diverse music programs
• Educational and community partnerships
• Sponsorships for talented minority student musicians
• Diverse audience and artistic development
